I can't believe I haven't posted since Blaire's birthday.
That is pathetic.
Obviously, much has happened since then, as we are living in Georgia!
We were apart from C for about a month. It was not easy, but not as bad as I'd expected. The move went smoothly. We enjoyed several days staying with friends and family while we were temporarily "stuff-less"....we technically had both the houses...but all our belongings were on the truck! We definitely appreciated the hospitality. And C was certainly glad to see the moving van arrive...he'd been living in the new house with only an airmattress, little TV with rabbit ears...and a dorm fridge!!
Justin is enjoying his new school and his teacher will loop up with him next year. I've been VERY impressed with Cherokee county schools. I will start volunteering in his classroom next week. Collin is settled into preschool 3x / week as well. The preschools here are partial day (9-1). And Gram has been getting Blaire for me a little bit each week, so I can paint bedrooms, etc.
After 3 weeks, we are mostly settled in. There are still big projects (kitchen countertops and appliances...basement...painting the den...etc) but they are all things we will get to as we can. But finally it seems that everything is put away...we have found a home for everything! And having a full basement has definitely helped that!
We have moved into a very friendly culdesac. In fact, last night consisted of moms and dads sitting in chairs on the sidewalk and kids playing kickball (kids and Carleton, of course!). There are 14 kids in the 6 houses that make up our culdesac.
We like the lot, the trees...and the wildlife. Lots of squirrels, birds...lizards...bumblebees. Science-loving Collin is in heaven.
I guess that gets us relatively up to date. C is settling into work and surviving the Atlanta traffic. I've visited with the Moms club here...and they were very friendly. So it is a lot of change, but we are adjusting...and enjoying the beautiful Georgia scenery while we settle in!!
Love -
